While Elise was on holiday in Queensland for a mutual friends 21st birthday 3 years ago now, we hit it off and had a holiday fling which we didn’t realise at the time would lead to a marriage! Best thing that could of happened.
It was New Year’s Eve 2014 and Broden had secretly organised a room at the Sheraton Hotel and a special gazebo we would watch the fireworks under surrounded by rose petals and candle light! It was just perfect and the most beautiful surprise!
We had always envisioned a beach wedding and when we had done some research An Island Hideaway just seemed like the perfect venue! Such a special place and an exciting venue for guests as well.
We had my sister make our bouquets which were just perfect!! We wanted silk artificial so we could keep them and they wouldn’t wither through out the day and would handle the weather. I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out!
I guess our key styling inspiration was just us and everything we love! The beach, shells, sand, family …
We tried to stick to a low budget which never happens especially when it comes to a wedding. I think our biggest splurge was Photography, which I think is a priority anyways. Other then that we managed to get everything when it was on sale we gave ourselves a year to plan and organise it all so had the time to look around and find what we loved best at decent prices. I think Broden’s wedding ring was one of the most expensive items we bought (he loves his diamonds as much as me! Haha)
We are going to daydream island, it’s more of a family moon as we will be taking our 19 month old daughter with us and it seemed the perfect family venue!
