Brisbane Powerhouse Wedding Photography…
What Alix and Jarrod said about Follett Photography: “I can’t recommend Follett Photography more! From first talking with Leah, I instantly knew she was the photographer for us. She was incredibly helpful and really listened to what we were after in our photos. Leah had amazing advice that really helped the flow of our wedding and ensured it wasn’t rushed. On the day of our wedding, Leah was super organised and took the lead, which meant I could just enjoy the day. We had so many compliments from our guests about how amazing she was and the photo’s she captured were incredible! I will definitely be using Follett Photography again!”
This is the second ever wedding a have photographed completely at the Powerhouse in Brisbane. This venue would have to see hundreds of wedding parties photograph around it every year. However, only when you book the venue itself, do you have access to inside. This is a real wedding post from a Brisbane Powerhouse wedding photographer.
I had so much fun at this wedding! So much in-fact, I lost my voice for the next two weeks. The sparkler photographs at the end of the day take the cake for the funnest moment of the day for me. We ran inside from the storm, ran back out for the sunset, and everything just worked perfectly.
Alix and Jarrod originally booked themselves a beach wedding. Due to covid restrictions, the couple moved the wedding to the Brisbane Powerhouse only 2 short months out from the big day! Their key styling inspiration?? “Laid back! I wanted everyone to be comfortable and to feel their best! The girls picked their own dresses and they just had a colour scheme of pinks and champagnes, boys were just in pants and a white button up. Jarrod is not really big on dressing up, so making sure he was comfortable was very important.”

A little of their story …
Ok, well, enough about me. This awesome couple met at a party, all thanks to Beach House Bar and Grill. They both had friends who worked there, and one of those friends were having the party. Alix had no intention of going to the party because at the time, she worked shift work and had a 6am shift the next morning. At the last minute Alix agreed to go with my friend/housemate at the time and now bridesmaid. She says: “The party was in the middle of nowhere and I didn’t know anyone but I sat down in a chair next to this really cute boy with a side fringe and we just hit it off. I ended up staying well past midnight, hanging with Jarrod the whole night. The next day he added me on facebook and I messaged him first. The rest is history…”
