The Tweed Coast is one of my absolute favourite places for weddings — honestly, it always has been. Nearly everywhere you look, there’s something beautiful: rolling greenery, coastal light, relaxed energy, and venues that feel both refined and effortless. Originally captured in 2019, this wedding remains one of my all-time favourites on the Tweed Coast — a day that still inspires me every time I look back. Rochelle and Brad’s wedding day was the perfect example of everything I love about photographing (and filming) weddings in this region.

Their day was fun, elegant, classic, and completely joy-filled. I was so happy they chose me to capture not only their Tweed Coast wedding photography, but also their wedding videography, allowing their story to be told in both still moments and movement.

Rochelle summed it up perfectly after the wedding:

“Our wedding day was amazing! We had so much fun. Leah captured absolutely everything you can think of! Mandi from Ivy and Bleu was amazing and helped ensure the day ran smoothly. We can’t pick a favourite moment because everything and everyone was so magical.”

Wedding Ceremony & Reception at Osteria Casuarina

Both the ceremony and reception were held at the stunning Osteria Casuarina, a venue that continues to be one of the Tweed Coast’s standout wedding locations. Because I hadn’t photographed there in a little while, I took myself for a drive through the area ahead of the wedding, scouting local photography locations and sending Rochelle and Brad a selection of options to choose from.

Wedding planning tip:
If your wedding photography is important to you, plan ahead and speak with your photographer about nearby locations that are unique, beautiful, and easy to access on the day. That small bit of preparation makes a huge difference.

“From the first time we walked into Osteria, we were in awe of how beautiful it is. We knew instantly it was our place. The venue, the staff, the food — everything was incredible. The fairy lights in the garden were insane, and we had our first dance outside. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting how beautiful it was.”

A Wedding That Was Effortless, Fun & Emotional

One of the best things about this wedding was how relaxed it felt. Rochelle and Brad were completely present, soaking up every moment, laughing with their friends, and enjoying the experience rather than rushing through it. This is exactly the kind of energy that photographs — and films — beautifully.

Capturing both photography and videography meant I could preserve the quiet emotional moments and the movement: reactions, laughter, speeches, and the atmosphere that can’t be captured in still images alone.
